Drain Fly, Fruit Fly & Gnat Control Service
Targeting the Source: Why You Have Small FliesUnlike large house flies, drain flies (moth flies), fruit flies, and gnats are often signs of a persistent source problem. These tiny insects require organic matter and moisture to breed. This organic matter builds up in drain pipes, slow pipes, and garbage disposals—an accumulation called "biofilm." This biofilm provides the perfect food, moisture, and reproductive environment for these pests.
Our goal is not just to kill the adult flies you see, but to permanently eliminate the breeding source using a two-part treatment protocol.
Comprehensive Two-Visit Treatment ProtocolOur comprehensive treatment is designed across two scheduled visits to ensure the complete breakdown of biofilm and the long-lasting elimination of fly larvae and adults. Our specialized products include a garbage disposal cleaner, a professional-grade enzymatic drain cleaner, aerosol fly bait spray, and a foaming insecticide approved for drain use.
Visit 1: Biofilm Breakdown & Initial KillOn the first visit, our technician focuses on breaking down the organic source material and addressing adult flies:
- Garbage Disposal Deep Clean: We clean and treat your garbage disposal to remove accumulated organic debris, a primary breeding site.
- Enzymatic Drain Cleaner Application: We apply a professional enzymatic drain cleaner to the affected drains. This solution actively digests and removes the organic biofilm within the pipes.
- Aerosol Fly Bait: We apply an aerosol fly bait application to surrounding surfaces to quickly reduce the population of active adult flies.
The second visit, typically scheduled 7-10 days after the first, focuses on residual protection and discouraging future buildup:
We treat affected drains with a foaming insecticide for long-lasting control. This foam expands to coat the entire inner surface of the drainpipe, reaching all the complex surfaces and voids where pests hide and breed. The foaming insecticide will also discourage further biofilm buildup, providing residual protection.
Client Preparation & Post-Treatment CareFor the treatment to be most effective, client cooperation is essential. For best results, please avoid using the treated drain for at least eight hours, or ideally overnight, after each visit. This allows the enzymatic cleaner and the foaming insecticide sufficient contact time to fully break down the biofilm and eliminate the pests and their eggs.
Pricing & Service DetailsDue to the specialized nature of small fly control and the required two-visit protocol, this service has a $275 minimum.
- Price Variation: Final prices may vary depending on the size of the property, the severity of the infestation, and the complexity of the work, such as treating multiple sinks or floor drains.
